I seriously doubt Diggers himself would come up with this. That sounds more like a promoter thing.
A couple of days ago I bought a special edition of the Computer Music mag, dedicated to digital DJ´ing, and there´s a very good interview with Digweed there. The man´s humbleness and professionalism is unquestionable.
I have to find a way to scan that shit or at least transcribe a few parts here.Comment

well, judging by his recent kiss 100 sets (including the WMC)...
don't get me wrong, i love digweed, but his recent sets have left much to be desired. this is not going to turn into a music discussion, but house and prog (or whatever you want to call what digweed plays) are two different things...i was more thinking of house in terms of more jazzy, soulful, non-techish, more instrumental, etc. as opposed to digweed's sound which i picture as more atmospheric, electronic, synthy, odd, etc. Now, i don't know if that's Joey's sound or not, but regardless of what he plays, why change his name?

Diggers certainly wasn't plod-weeding it at Space a 14-days ago. As for the rider stuff, that goes on - Steve Parry (of 3-Beat fame) had strict instructions when opening for Sasha at Cream (even though Steve furnished him with a lot of his records at the time). He didn't have to change his name though !sigpicSimonR
