Jacob Todd - Passage promo mix

Today we have something special again for you. In the past, we hosted mixes from Jacob Todd already which always received a positive feedback because they were unique and stood out from from the rest. Jacob is about to release his album on CP Recordings at the beginning of September and he made different promo mixes to promote the album release. He gave us one of the promo mixes for hosting and as I dig his work also personally, it is a pleasure to support him and I hope you like what he has put together in this mix.

    Tracklist for the promo mix:

01 - Darius Kohanim – Going Postal – Emote Music
    02 - Andy Page & Sean Quinn – SQAP (Habersham’s Fear Monster 3000 Remix) – Audio Therapy
    03 - Solieb – Circus Maximus – Maschine
    04 - D-Nox & Beckers – My Number One (Remix Part Two) – Sprout
05 - Knix – Electric Poetry (Pole Folder 80 Hz Electricity Mix) – Proton
    06 - Jacob Todd & Jillian Kiggins – Cover Me – CPR
    07 - Seyton – Anonymous Armpit – Looq
08 - Jacob Todd - Twenty Twenty (Ozgur Can Remix) – Babylon
09 - Rasmus & Dumb Dan – Lijus (Jacob Todd’s Dark Country Mix) – Dumb
10 - Fergie – Ken The Men (Dumb Dan Remix) – Punch Funk
    11 - Swoop – Superlicious (Funk D’Void Mix) – Craft Music

Recension for the upcoming album: taken from http://cdbaby.com/cd/jacobtodd

Jacob Todd's Passage is CP Recording's first album project. The album features over 60 minutes of original music written, produced and programmed by Jacob Todd. Minimal downtempo breaks fuse with edgy progressive house and melodic riffs float along to capture a unique mood. Collaborations with respected vocalists Kelly Noland and Jillian Kiggins further enhance the album, leading to an eclectic showcase.

    Bio: taken from http://www.aquaboxdesign.com/jacob-todd/bio.html

Jacob Todd first got involved with music at the age of 13, playing bass in hardcore punk bands. Following college, Jacob moved to Boulder, Colorado for graduate school in late 1999. It was in Boulder where he was first exposed to progressive trance and house music through frequent visits to the now defunct club Soma.

Jacob started DJing in 2000 and producing in 2002. Jacob's first record, entitled "Nothing Is Real," was released in 2004 by Jonathan Lisle's M-Theory Records. Dubbed "the Photek of progressive breaks" by Meat Katie for its "solid rhythm, clever programming, and rocking beats," Nothing is Real was featured on both Anthony Pappa's Balance CD and John Digweed's Kiss 100 radio show. His follow-up record "The Metaphysics of Paper" was released on 3 Beat Breaks later that year and was again featured by John Digweed on his Kiss 100 radio show.

Two-thousand five sees the release of several more records from Jacob including collaborations with Habersham, "Nevermore," Kelly Noland, "Somehow" and Jordan Nafie, "Malta," along with solo productions for Babylon Recordings, "Twenty Twenty," Sentient Audio Collective, "Lunedi," and Parabolic Records, "Book of Ghosts." In addition, Nick Warren chose the Aural Imbalance remix of Somehow to be included on his Shanghai compilation for Global Underground.

Jacob has completed remix projects for artists such as Relisys, Andrew K and Simuck, Brahma, Lynx, Native, and Jase from Outta Space. Jacob is currently working on a full-length artist album for CP Recordings that will be a DJ-style mix of all original music written from the ground up.

I had to take the mix down because of a misunderstanding between Jacob and me. The mix will be hosted in the 1st week of September. Sorry for the inconvinience.

Listened today, not as good as his other mixes IMO, but the track of the moment is Seyton-Anonymous Armpit, brilliant track, if I heard this in a club I'd go nuts!

                        Thanks for providing Jacob/Tom
