Having trouble deleting a file (Mac OSX)...need help

So I was burning a DVD full of mp3's and apparently there was an error. I was able to eject the disc but there was still an icon (Untitled DVD.fpbf) left on the destop. All of the 4.2gb of mp3's I was burning to disk have copied to this folder, so it's taking up space. When I try to delete the file, it says the file is locked. So I unlock the file in administrative permissions. It continues to say the filed is locked. Even the individual files in the locked folder are locked, but this time it allows me to enter my admistrative password for sufficient privieges. Only now it tells me I don't have sufficient privileges to move this file. Apparently there's sand in my laptop's vagina drive.

      fire up the terminal
      then run
      sudo rm -rf /path/to/the/directory/with/mp3's
