Help: pitching an article about kiss100

ive never done this before but my buddy is a pitch writer for soma magazine http://www.somamagazine.com/ and has only heard the few kiss mixes/ house music that ive played for him but we want to colaberate for a article about digweed and essepually his radio show

Who are tomorrow's tastemakers and why? SOMA uncovers the eccentric personas of the underground as well as revisiting icons in art, music, design and culture. We also expand the idea of the Street Pulse section into all aspects of the magazine. It's the People issue and we deliver an issue guided by our readers.

i think it would be fun, im no expert but i think i know digweeds music pretty well.

so we need to pitch the idea by tuesday including links and pictures.
i found out about it about 15 minites ago but i think right now i wouldwant to write about how especially in edm the test of time is how you can tell that one is a trendsetter and a icon in there genre and coinsidently its the 6 year aniversery of his show today. stunning jd pics and and any insite from anyone is welcome. the mag is hella trendy but i think it would be a nice fit. thanks in advance

you can mention to him that he has had pretty much every big name dj on his show every week since 2000, and here are the tracklistings.

well i have to put links and pictures with the pitch, so i was gonna include ms but right now the 2 popluar threads are about chicks with dicks and some dude going to a tanning salon, not really helpful for the editor

you should try and do an online interview w/digweed. i've done a few science pieces and gotten interviews w/scientists this way.

dude, who gives a shit about two threads on a forum fueled by a global community of early adopters, EDM experts and the next generation of turntable spankers (like chlo? to name just one of the many)???

Just look beyond GYY and you'll see what MS really is.

This thread gave me a great idea: I used to write for Out Soon (Belgian youth culture magazine) a few years ago, but I ditched it because of a lack of time. Two weeks ago they called me to ask if I could write an article about Skype (my specialisation was multimedia and internet). I'm thinking of giving the guys a call to see if they're interested in a piece about where to find the pulse of tomorrow's EDM. Kinda starting from the idea that you don't need a DJ to tell you which tunes are hot and which are not. Power to the people


Lrn, if you want MS to be included in that Digweed article, you need to have a logical link with the story. Imo it could be the huge support the guy has through this forum. I don't know many DJs (apart from the hyped ones) who can say they have a solid community of a few thousand people for years in a row...

Mention the websites that have sprung up all around his one weekly show - MS, arts.ualberta.ca/kiss, tracklistings.net, johndigweed.com etc

Also mention he's had every big dj in the world as a guest (apart from Tenaglia)

Really i just want to say how stoked i am about digweeds show over the past 6 years, and what in means to me, like hearing new djs and jsut getting fully addictied to that djs music, you know shit like that
