    HDR Photography

I have been looking into this lately as I think the pictures are breath-taking when done right. If any of you have experimented with HDR I would love to see them.

Here is a link to a flickr account that I have been looking through and I can't get over some of the images.

HDR or High Dynamic Range photography Made from multiple images, shot at different exposures, to raise the dynamic range of the final result. First you take three identical images at different exposures, and then you do some math. This produces a an effect that is closer to matching what the eye sees when looking at the same image. Except when it doesn't. All of these were combined in software called Photomatix. There are other programs that you can use to make HDR that work as Photoshop filters.

Here is one of my faves in the bunch. I just love how vibrant the colours are in HDR.

I like that style as well, but HDR, if done properly is breath-taking IMO....they can still look so life-like but have the most vibrant colours.

Yes. We use it in 3d applications to simulate real world lighting. My process however is a little different from that used to create the images on the flicker site.

Keep in mind that a lot of those photos look very heavily processed in photoshop. More so than your regular correction tweaking ie... different layer modes, blurring, burning etc.. What you should be looking at in these photos is light. Light sources, lights relation to different objects etc... there is where and what hdr images are amazing for.

Cool stuff though... thanks for sharing.

                    i so fucking agree...
but i see it like this. in art/photography there are 2 kinds of works...
just good brilliant and georgous looking pics... shallow but beautiful

                    and pics with meaning.
pics where u see the subject and read the title maybe and just think, woah shit what an awesome concept and what well balanced message the creator got.

i really like to create both types but OFCOURSE work with message n meaning is way more serious!

Do you have any "how to start" tips on learning this technique....I have a few pictures of mine I would like to try it on, but I am still not up to speed with photoshop and if you have any beginner tips to HDR, I would love to hear them
