this guy deserves and award and a statue. they have these fucking things NY now and they have the speed you are doing too. but the damn cops put them at the beginning of speed zones, so we are being ticketed for driving 40 in a 40, when the next intersection is the speed zone.

that's true, but since the government introduced a new system of super high fines in combination with intensified monitoring by mobile units as well as fixed cams, the death toll due to high speed accidents has gone down drastically here.
If there's a speed limit, respect it instead of thinking "hey, I can drive a car." Few people really know what they're doing when driving at high speed. The rest thinks it's just putting the pedal to the metal...
I don't want to preach here, but imo a lot of drivers haven't got a clue about the responsability that comes with holding a steering wheel. Not to mention the risks of handling high levels of kinetic energy.
I know the guy who ran over my best friend with his SUV didn't.
I'll agree with that point...it's amazing how many people get a license that don't really deserve one...
but because of the system, you have speed limits in the States federally mandated at 55-65mph (some midwestern states are higher because it's all open road mainly) and cars with speedometers pushing 120...ummm, something's not quite right here
