ok lets say i got decent pc for starting.....

intel pentium 3.0 ghz 1 gig of ram
good sound card (don't know which one to buy)
2 monitor speakers Alesis
Midi controller ? Which one?
other hardware?

Honestly to start up in production you only need five things. First, a computer, which you obviously have. Second, music production program. I would recommend Reason. Reason is an excellent program to start off with. It is user friendly and does not have limits. Third, speakers and or headphones of course. Fourth, some knowledge of basic music theory, etc. The final thing, some phat beats made up in your head. After you have all these you will be on your way.
