Well, look at Katrina. It wasted NO, and NO is know for its loose society and its embrace for the homosexual community. Just because NY has not fallen does not mean that it wont ever fall. Just because you do not see brimstone and fire does not mean that God is not exacting his vengence in other ways.

Then what justifies the islands (around the Maldives) inhabited by tribes that barely even clothe themselves and live their lives without any of the "man-made" crimes of modern day, yet were washed away by the Tsunami a few years back? Why did they deserve any of it?

Have you considered the POSSIBILITY that god could be the image of an advanced civilization (a billion years ahead of us in their technology) where they can alter everything around them based on thought ..... and we as an insignificant race of living beings and limited understanding accepts that as proof of God (which is also a word created by the depths of our limitations as was the Bible written in the same conditions?)

As I stated earlier it takes a vivid imagination to not believe that God exists.

Now lets be honest here, that is something that is imagined.

If what I said above was written down in some stoners book, that ended up being passed down the ages and was eventually (and mistakingly) considered a scripture of sorts, you'd probably believe it wouldn't you ?

or the fact that hurricanes have existed since weather. they happen every year, all over the planet. and the hurricanes can be proven as a natural act through study of trade winds based out above the atlantic and pacific oceans. and the NOLA destruction had a little more to do with human error and ignorance than weather.

give one valid, fact that god exists and im sure one of us can use science to prove otherwise.even the church has backed off since its been disproven time and time again. now, instead of creationism, they call it divine intervention. its only time..

I am not sure where you are getting that information but is is very inaccurate. There was no council that decided what was or was not scripture. The Hebrews were given the Old Testament and the New Testament was letters written to the early church in differrent locations. There is only two English translations that the Church should be using today. The King James and the American Standard. These were translated from the ORIGINAL texts. These two versions were a translation NOT a transliteration. The difference being a translation is from one language to another. A transliteration is a translation with the translator attempting to decipher what they thought the original text was trying to say. That is what the New International Version did. A transliteration. There is a huge difference in the two.

Example is John 3:16
King James version:
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

New International version:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Notice the words in bold. There is a great difference in should not and shall not perish. Should not being dependant on the person, and shall not means no matter what you do you will not perish if you simply believe. BTW the entire Baptist doctrine is based on being saved by faith only which is what the NIV carries throughout its contents.

I would not begin to think that I could explain what goes on in the world or how God uses his means. I am just a mere man. I only know what God has given me in Scripture.

I am afraid I can not answer that question, that is one for God only.

I do not know what denomination you refer to here but the church that Christ purchased with his blood and is the church of the New Testament has not backed off of anything and has not changed the name of anything. You must be referring to a denomination started by man.

If I had to guess you refer to "the church" as the Catholics, right?

ugh, i don't know why anyone even bothers to respond to this guy...he seems to want to take everything known in the scientific world and through some convoluted argument try and show how its inaccurate...therefore only God and religion are correct.

Well that could be hard and easy to answer at the same time. The church that is spoken of in the New testament does not go by a sect or denomination. It is the one church that is the pure and undefiled truth of Gods word. The church of Christ is what is on the sign outside. It is the one single-in-nature church that Christ purchased with his blood. It is not a denomination started by any man. It traces back to the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 when Peter preached the first sermon and 3000 people were baptized. Acts 2:47 says ...and the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." That is the church that Christ will deliver up to heaven in the end of time.

That is as brief as I could get without a long Biblical explanation.

Any help?

I assure you that we stand by the Bible and every word that is in it. Creation = 7 days, Evolution is not accepted as it is not spoken of in the Bible.
