South West Four, Clapham Common...Photos and Video added!

So...I missed Morillo. No big deal. I got there as X-Press 2 were on, churning out all the cheesy stuff (do you really need 3 decks and 3 djs for this shite?). They were in party mode and there sets weren't crafted in the least bit. Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams (some remix) went down well with the happy-go-lucky crowd though.

Then wandered over to the Bora-Bora Ibiza tent. Gordon the Trumpet was on playing some fantastic house music, really uplifting and soulful. The place was rammed.

Then back off to the main stage....Lee Burridge! I didn't know he was playing! He was billed to play 30 mins but, probably because of Sasha's lateness, he played about an hour of incredible techy-house music, and to play to such a crowd just before you're off to play with Mr Richards as Tyrant across the way at Fabric. Great stiff.

Then of course the man like. First hour surprised me. I was expecting the same old set. But heard a few variations, new tunes and was moving my feet in no time. Nice to have a 10pm finish. Major down point was Sasha finishing with In A State, his remix and not his edit. Overall he worked the crowd well and it was more of the same 2004 brand Sasha.

As usual pics and vids to follow

Lets be honest. Its a big commercial festival thing. Sasha's gonna take his money and just play out a load of easy crowd pleasers...
Good to see Burridge keeping it real tho.

Re:: South West Four, Clapham Common

Yeah, ending on In A State was a disappointing end to the set... but what a set it was. Nice to hear Sasha let rip with two-and-a-half hours of large tunes - no patient build-up or fillers. Pounding, melodic, bassline-driven numbers for an 8,000+ crowd.

Only tracks I recognised were the Meat Katie remix of Deep Dish's Flashdance, Felix Da Housekat's Watching Cars Go By and what sounded like a dub of his remix of Cirque - Pokinoi... Anyone got an ID on the last track (before Unkle)? An electro/breaks/acid mash-up (my mate reckoned it sampled AC/DC)...

Burridge was wicked and I could quite happily have danced to him all night - didn't make Fabric - again his last track was a winner.

The sun shone, the beer was Red Stripe and not Carling (for a change) and while it wasn't vintage Sasha it was bloody good.

Re:: South West Four, Clapham Common

I thought it was quite a good event, not a bad set from Sasha only a bit quiet where I was due to it being near a residential area.

Not like Sasha to do a cash in event in the UK?? Why do you reckon that Presto??

Yeah didn't like hearing the remix of in a state at Fabric. Heard he played Killa as well???

It was a good day, Bora Bora tent was cool and Gordon the Trumpet did indeed play a great set. Burridge was good, and I enjoyed the Sasha set, not his innovative best but did the job for a day festivcal.
