Any hip-hop/rap that involves lyrical skill; this disqualifies a lot of the stuff thats come out in the last 10 years...

i think it's just that most people can't stand all the shit they see on MTV and hear on the radio now
for instance:
Young Joc (or any other rapper with "young" in his name these days)
Mike Jones
Lil' Jon (or any other rapper with "Lil" in front of his name these days)
Paul Wall

these guys are fucking jokes,. i know whatre saying Anonin and this isnt directed towards you at all. there are plenty of quality MC's out at the moment be it mainstream or underground. it just seems like all you have to do now is come up with some stupid ass catch phrase that doesnt make sense (or even have to be a word at all) and yell it as loud and as obnoxious as possible, and you're on MTV. if you ask me it's complete bullshit for the thousands of musicians that are out there playing gigs every night for years, are talented, and get no recogonition. then you flip on MTV and it's some dumbass slurring "meet me in the mall, it's goin down." absolutely fucking ridiculous. i'm out.

i hear ya on that :-), and i should have emphasized more that im not referring to those (standard) songs you hear on the radio every 9 seconds, such as you described in your post, but rather people who are among those acts yet maintain quality control ex. busta rhymes, its easy to see whats upfront on m.t.v and the radio, shrugg it off, and procede to strap your backpack on, but just like the underground good music exists among all the crap/filler, the same exists for the mainstream. So that original post was aknowledging that fact.
