Thats a fair comment, but I guess I judge mixes in a different way ie. I look for originality, range of styles etc. 2 hours is a long time I think to throw something original up and actually break from the norm once in a while - I like to be suprised when listening to mixes.

Did none of these catch your fancy?

definitely - the Danny Howells and the Middleton ones are awesome ( although I prefered Middletons one from 2001 I think? ). FSOL and Dorfmeister I haven't heard but will track down. I didn't actually realise Ben Watt had one? The Oakenfold one I have probably heard ( all his ones from round that time are really good - that was when trance was really killing it ). If you haven't done so you should check out the Dope Smugglaz and the 1993 Heller and Farley mixes - both amazing for different reasons...

I thought the middleton star wars one was from last year, but maybe it was the 2001 mix...so many to remember

I'll definitely check out the dope smugglaz one and as for heller, I didn't realized he had one (or even that he's been around that long). He always impresses me...love the few live sets of his I have.

Middleton has done 2 - one of them is from 2001 ( I think ), really good shit. Theres been a few Terry Farley and Pete Heller ones but the one from 93 is my favourite one. The Dope Smugglaz one is awesome - LOADS of originality, off the wall samples ( without being stupid ), and just brilliant jacking house music......
