    baseball

i dunno anymore. baseball... wow. what more can u ask for. these past few weeks have made me realize that nothing compares. forget the world cup, forget the NFL, hockey...pffft.

all this season has brought us fans should be remembered. from nomar to schilling, and everything in between. cano, howard, verlander, cabrera, liriano. the rises and falls of upcomers and old blood. frank fucking thomas getting exiled, only to come back with a STORM> the fall of the red sox, whom, in may, looked to be one of the historical teams that we remember with every aspect of the game covered and covered well. baseball made us remember its more than the 25 guys who take the feild when jimmy leyland grabbed a pathetic detroit tigers team and lead them to where they are. riding high on a pair of kids who took the long way to the majors, college. ryan howard's explosion in philly and that teams late season run to the playoffs. how joe girardi took a team that as a whole makes less than two dozen individual players on other teams on a TEAR in the second half. the surprising twins, who lost the stud youngster liriano, only to see guys like hunter, mauer, and morneu pick up the slack and knock off the defending champs from playoff contention. look out west. two old falling stars in Nomar and Piazza in the NL and the BIG HURT in the AL essentially giving thier teams a serious shot of adrenaline. the second guessing of the yanks early on, only to see them pick up a guy who didnt want to be a star and put him behind the captain and lets us NY'ers watch the lineup destroy pichting.

the coming of the new breed.
verlander, howard, melky, canoe, liriano, zumaya, papelbon, cain. watch out for these kids, they are all winners. gonna be around for awhile and have impacts in future years.

the most entralling topic over the last 3 weeks has to be the (potentially) biggest collapse of regular season teams in that the cardinals, a tema everyone figured to be in the NLCS, managed to fall and fall,.... and fall again, only to get back up everytime and walk away, now stand 29 hours from the end of the season if they dont win out.

watching philly and houston, and even florida, come out of baseball pergurtory, to CHARGE on during the last month and a half. potentially killing some other worthy candidates.

the sudden re-emergance of El Duque, who in all effect, will have to single-handidly lead the Mets into uncharted ground. a team that lost their setup man, and recently, thier ace. right now he is the only guy who has gamed in the postseason on that team. shawn green has played, but is a shell of his old self, delgado hasnt ever played in a playoff game and the rest of the team outside of beltran, is inexperienced. that will be fun to watch, especially considering, and im a yanks fan ehre so i have seen it time and time again, el dueque simply makes people look stupid in big games. he has that jeter factor where the brighter the lights get, the more this guy relaxes and relishes the spot. i have seen him throw a 92 mph fastball and on the next pitch a 67 mile breaking ball that makes people trip over thier own legs.

and the cards. who are they, who do they want to be. with heroes like rolen and edmunds, and the new babe ruth at first, where are they going? hopefully they take the nest day and half and win big.

baseball. you cant ask for anything more.

not to mention getting to watch my hero say goodbye in NY tomorrow night. bernie took the bench role to stay here, only to become a regular when sheff and hideki fell, and helped carry this team from second place to running away. what a year.

    im gonna miss ya bernie.

Baseball is the shit!, and Im glad my Blue crew was able to hold onto that wildcard lead. We're set to go and we'll see what happens tomorrow, we just might celebrate twice if the Padres loose and we win.

      cya in the playoffs!

god there is so much more.

shelton and puljos' s antics early on, both looking like they were off to 80+ homer seasons.

        utley
        manny
the fall of the 5 in chi town
watching loretta and a-gon dominate infeilding, putting a clinic on everyday.
        arod's bumpy road this year
ichiro seemingly catching anything between the infeild dirt and wall and sometimes a few feet behind the wall

        for our philly fans.
aaron fucking rowand. the kamikaze. this guy should be on jackass.

jose reyes, most exciting player around.

if you consider pujols missed almost a month of the season, what he's done this year is freaking insane.

3rd in batting, 2nd in homers, 2nd in rbis...and those are just the glossy stats. lead the league with walkoff game winning hits too.

funny thing, Arod lead the majors in go ahead runs until the all star break, even with all the failures he had.

i dunno, i am so excited the playoffs are here, i have taken 9 days off for the playoffs, and yet,, i am sad its gonna end in a few weeks. like yesterday. we were all at my friends house watching the games, and im sitting in the kithen watching the final yanks game. they were tied up in the 8th and farnsworth gave up home run number 1000 this year. oh btw, torre sat the game out and let bernie manage the game. but in the bottom of the 9th, with the yanks down 7-5 torre comes to the dugout and tells bernie to pinch hit with 2 outs. needless to say the tears started flowing for every real fan there and at home. BER-NIE BER-NIE over and over, the toronto pithcer showed a ton of class and stepped off for a second, bernie tipped his helmet, BOOM, double into the gap for his last official at bat of his yankee playing career. the place went NUTS. my friends are laughing at me and my friend dan for looking like little girls sitting there. more and more chants, posada ran onto the feild to get the ball for bernie. jeter went to the top of the dugout and started waiving his hands to keep the ovation going.... thats what its all about here. at least i got to remember my hero walking away with a deep line drive double in the 9th to a stadium going nuts for him.

i know, fUCK, but if we win game one against santana (not bloody likely) think how we would go into oakland after taking at least 1 of 2

Agreed. Except the first game is the momentum builder, and in a 5 game series, it's the biggest game.

oh trust me i know , the a's really play poorly at the metrodome too, that place is evil. but we have hit boof hard, and garza did pitch well against us when liriano had to leave the game but now we have seen him. as for radke, we'll have to see. im confident where as in recent playoff past i havent, im so nervious right now....

Sorry Lrn, but my Twinks are gonna roll in this series

Should be a great series regardless of who wins it though. For the Twins to come back from as far back as they did to win the AL Central is an amazing feat in its own...

its essentially a real soap opera for guys.
