I started a thread on GU messageboard about this cd. I was sooo pleased with the reaction. I want to see what peeps on hear think about this cd as well. Classic fuckin mix, love both discs, especially cd 1(so smooth and flawless, tracks just melt into one another). Although Diggers Bedrock is probally my favourite mix from John(hard to pick a fav) I totally love this cd. So ahead of its time( the tribal sound became more popular a few years later) and great.CD 2 is some damn fine trance-y prog house. Anyway, you thoughts and opinions please......

these discs were the first GU's i heard. me and my roomate at the time were having problems living together but i remember he came home with these one night and our problems were solved. so for me, those discs hold a special place in my heart. an ungay place i might add. classic cd's. i managed to talk him in to giving me the discs after a few weeks. -

Classic CD. I only ever listen to CD1 though, which is possibly the best 'programmed' CD he's ever done. Every track was made for the next track if you catch my drift.
CD2 is ok, great driving music, but 3 of the final 4 tracks are very poor IMO, apart from Ylem.Comment

Re: John Digweed GU 06 Sydney appreciation thread
Sydney was mixed using CDJs with tons of looping and it tells with some of the shit Digweed is doing on Disk 2 from "Autobahna" to "Stargazer". Vocals come in and out and his transitions are mellifluous. That stretch of tracks is one of hte best peak time stretches on a GU. Sydney is hands down my favorite GU.4 9 7 23 5 5 4Comment

Beautiful mix, one of my favorite GUs. I still play it every few weeks. In fact, I think I'll play it now. I love hearing Albion - Air come in. And both CDs have my all-time favorite opening tracks.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.Comment

Re: John Digweed GU 06 Sydney appreciation thread
I was so close to playing GU 06 Disk One on my walk to uni this morning, but instead I listened to GU 09 Disk Two. Still, it's kind of spooky to then come on here and see that you've made a thread about it. It's a flawless set of CDs. What's also cool is that John talks about Perth, my home city, in the sleeve notes.
6 1/2 hour set…and I loved every minute, I've always liked Perth.Comment

Re: John Digweed GU 06 Sydney appreciation thread
at first we had the original and then as always they were stolen or whatever and we ended up getting the thrive ones which I know for a fact that the San Fran was missing a track but I can't quite remember which track it was. i learned my lesson about that. Neptune used to keep the originals coming and then who knows what happened." Focus on the subtleties and the world becomes grander"
