The thing with the original Northern Exposure is like Digweed mentions on the JJJmixup. It was about playing the tracks that they couldn't play in the clubs. John mentions Keiichi Suzuki - Satellite Serenade in the interview as one of them tracks. I think the problem at the beginning was certainly the EDM press just didn't get it. I remember DJ Magazine refused to even give the first Northern Exposure compilation a rating, although they reviewed it. They thought it was so bad (or they just didn't get it). This is to me it is the greatest mix CD ever. I think Sasha & Digweed diverted a bit from the original idea with the other 2 compilations because of this. But the other two where still really good.
