by any chance did you watch the daily show with Jon Stewart during the clinton years. He railed on those dems quite a bit in those days, moreso than the repubs (clinton was just too damn easy! ). That the show is skewed towards making fun of the repubs now has everything to do with making fun of those in power. Truthfully, do you ever really listen to Stewart...he hates both parties, he just feels the dems are the lesser of two evils.

oh and if this debate just keeps going on, we might as well make arrangements to discuss this further over some drinks...don't worry I wouldn't expect you to make much sense later in the evening

i know i watched, but that was really before it became the monster it is now. at least back then you could go thorugh a show without it throw at ya. his coverage of the late term pardons was actually funny. it was before they started to get serious.

Unfortunately, we're getting what we deserve by electing politicians like Bush. He got voted in because of his name and big oil money. He didn't become Governor of Texas and President by being this great leader. Sure, he made us all feel great after 9/11, but that was to his credit being a great speaker. If our country was smart, we would've voted someone into office with intelligence and cares about the world.

We should be voting people into office on their merits instead of how great of a fundraiser they are, how good of speaker they are, how rich they are, or happen to be related to a previous President.

The sad thing is that many of us would vote for someone different, but there isn't any other viable choice. We have the choice between two parties and both candidates are much closer to being the same than we want to admit. Basically, we're left powerless to make a difference. You really begin to question if you live in a Democracy at all.

wtf? People need to get some balls and speak out against injustices. Bush has been very much like Hitler. He's used the CIA basically as his own SS in capturing supposed terrorists. Come on dude, grow some balls, stop being a republican hippy, and stand up for the shit that's wrong with the US. I'm really so sick of us just turning the other cheek to the morons that were elected. Aside from maybe Powell, Rice is the only person I could give credit to for trying to question the administration's actions.
