yeah, i got firewall, buts i allready switched it off.
otherwise i checked the host file, but there are no releated entry's in it.
i'm downloading spy sweeper at the moment, which seems to be my last option now.

I had gotten some spyware or a trojan I'm not sure what it was . But it made my PC into a ad server. Every few minutes I would get popup ads. I found the DLL that did it but as soon as I renamed it or delete it, it would replicate itself. I viewed all services and also svhost to see what was running. But to no avail I had to just wipe it. You may just want to do a clean install because you never know what they leave behind. Just backup everything first. Hopefully you have all your production work on another drive or back it up. Just start a new my friend.

i just tried spy sweeper and it found 18 entry's i havn't found before but it is a shareware version and it seem not possible to fix the problems.

Man if you had anything like I did. I tried everything. Booting into safe-mode but it still wouldn't allow me to delete the DLL. Took everything out of my startup, removed unnecessary RUN keys from the registry, deleted all instances of that DLL from the registry as well. Adaware would find it. It was the only one that did but could not clean it. What I think it does is renames a System DLL so it masks itself and on reboot replicates the DLL. Crazy shit!! If that's it, it's probably is possible but in the long run it would be quicker to do a fresh install. And even if you clean it there could be things left over and corruption of serious windows files. I'm telling you, you'll be better off.

Also, how about logging into other sites. Are you able to? This problem I had overtook the Cryptographic services and I wasn't able to login to anything but a few sites. Let me know if this occurs because then your problem might not be as serious.

no, i have this problem for some time now, but it has only occured with google
all other sites works quite well!
that's also the point with installing the system new.
it's just this one (though very important) site, and i could use other search machines, but it's just a bit unnerving because google is simply the best.

okay, now i tried all, i think.
but still no efford!
i also tried it with a full copy of spy sweeper, which found 22 objects and removed them, but the problem's still there.

now i really think about installing the system new.

In Safe Mode w/ network support does it work or not?

like djway said try a traceroute to the address or just a simple nslookup on it to see what ip address you are being told and who the response is coming from. Is it possible that the DNS host record on the DNS server is wrong? Here's what I'm getting for resolution:

Addresses: 216.239.57.99, 216.239.57.104, 216.239.57.147, 216.239.57.103
Aliases: www.google.com

You could always just use the ip in the address field for now or make your own host entry as a workaround too.

And a step-by-step removal guide is available on McAfee.

If all that doesn't do it, make a search on your pc for any other hosts files (one version of the trojan creates a new hosts file on \windows\help\)

Another good tool is Hijack This. It's a little advanced but gives you alot more info about your system.

this can happen if the DNS server couldn't translate google.de to the IP address. This happens now and then, but it shouldn't happen regulary. In your case seems like the DNS server timed-out looking to translate name to IP... thats all. I don't believe any spyware is causing this problem. Ofcourse, it always helps using Mozilla FireFox hehe....

i first tried the symantec tool which found nothing at all, but then i searched for another hosts file and found one in the windows/help, as you said.
just replaced it with the orginal one and restarted my explorer, and done.
...really just in time. this was supposed to be my last visit in here before i re-install the system!
