Might not be enough. Just a few days ago I installed this stupid thing from 35mb.com and I had to use 4 different spyware cleaners to get rid of all (hopefully) spyware. Each one cleaned something different.

                Spybot
                Adaware
Spy Sweeper (seems it cleaned the most, including some trojans)
                Spyware doctor

All are free (at least without updates, which may cost something)

Also I installed WinPatrol - it helps you identify the processes that go on in your system and alerts you each time a new application wants to add itself to your start up list.

Mario check your hosts file. Some spyware will put its own entries there and thats where most systems will check first before trying DNS for name resolution. The file should be in your system folder (winnt, windows) in another folder named etc. The only entry that should be there by default is a loopback (127.0.0.1) and the file should be named hosts with no extention (not hosts.sam which is the sample version of the file).

^^ that's what I was thinking. The hosts file is a list of web addresses with matching ip's. You can match any ip to a web address to avoid your pc of having to "translate" that web address to ip everytime you want to connect to it. Thing is, you can add any ip to that list, the system will not check if it's the correct ip.

                    host file location:

                    Windows 95/98/Me: windowsdirectory\hosts
                    Windows NT/2000/XP: windowsdirectory\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

                    example: e:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

The file has no extension, it's simply hosts.

Open it with notepad and look for a line that has:

Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

                    or
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

                    or any reference to www.google.

completely erase those lines, it's also a good idea to delete everything and leave only the loopback line as said before, because you might have more false ip's in there. Save the hosts file (be careful to save it as hosts with no extension and not as hosts.txt) see if you can open that site now.

edit: I google'd a little using: cpanel google, and found this address: http://www.spysweeper.com/cpanel-google.html in case you want to read more about that hijack.

Re:: can't connect to google anymore!

Defo agree w/ the last 2 replies about hosts files!!!! Was getting onto that as well!!!!!

The other thing to check is ping www.google.de see what IP you get. Then get someone else here (I'm behind a firewall ATM) to see what they get. You should get roughly the same IP/range.

another thing you could try is a tracert www.google.de, see if you're path is the same as someone else's to google.de.

beto is on the money. I'm sure you'll have no more issues if you follow his links/advice.

There's a few of us in here who WILL get it sorted; don't go ask google

Yes I was also going to suggest checking your host file.

Let me ask you. Do you have a personal firewall installed?

yeah, i got firewall, buts i allready switched it off.
otherwise i checked the host file, but there are no releated entry's in it.
i'm downloading spy sweeper at the moment, which seems to be my last option now.

I had gotten some spyware or a trojan I'm not sure what it was . But it made my PC into a ad server. Every few minutes I would get popup ads. I found the DLL that did it but as soon as I renamed it or delete it, it would replicate itself. I viewed all services and also svhost to see what was running. But to no avail I had to just wipe it. You may just want to do a clean install because you never know what they leave behind. Just backup everything first. Hopefully you have all your production work on another drive or back it up. Just start a new my friend.

i have thought about it myself but it's just a matter lacking of time.

i just tried spy sweeper and it found 18 entry's i havn't found before but it is a shareware version and it seem not possible to fix the problems.

Man if you had anything like I did. I tried everything. Booting into safe-mode but it still wouldn't allow me to delete the DLL. Took everything out of my startup, removed unnecessary RUN keys from the registry, deleted all instances of that DLL from the registry as well. Adaware would find it. It was the only one that did but could not clean it. What I think it does is renames a System DLL so it masks itself and on reboot replicates the DLL. Crazy shit!! If that's it, it's probably is possible but in the long run it would be quicker to do a fresh install. And even if you clean it there could be things left over and corruption of serious windows files. I'm telling you, you'll be better off.

Also, how about logging into other sites. Are you able to? This problem I had overtook the Cryptographic services and I wasn't able to login to anything but a few sites. Let me know if this occurs because then your problem might not be as serious.
