gotta make money to stay in business, they werent making any. the lower manhatten civic Assoc. and some other historical societies fought to make it a preserved site, but the landlord made a good point. while famous, its only a bar, and the guy owns the building and land. eh.

Fraunces Tavern is just a bar, but it's a national landmark...

I've seen many many great shows there, so I had to made a few treks out there in the last year to see some friends' bands play, as well as a few others...it is quite sad to see such a legendary and historic place close down it's doors forever and Vegas will never do that place justice.
