Nice and stable...which is good, becuase the last update I did w/1.6 screwed up a lot of things...thank god for backups.

Could also turn into v2 official if all works well; now alas, just have to wiat for some extensions to become compatible with it that I liked using...

there is an extension that enables extensions for FFOX2.
i haven't tested it yet, but will probably try

firefox 2 is suppose to be release today at 1700PST

A new version of the Firefox browser for the web 2.0 age is to make its debut on 24 October. Built in to the updated software is anti-phishing technology, to prevent fraud, as well as built-in spell checking and a search engine manager.
It is released less than a week after Microsoft unveiled Internet Explorer 7.
The Mozilla Corporation, which oversees the development of Firefox, says more than one million people helped refine the final release.
Firefox 2 is released at 1700 PST (0100 BST).
