      Are you kidding me??

I wasn't even going to post in this thread again until I saw your ridiculous comments. Do you honestly have any idea what you are talking about.....where are you getting your facts, or is this rumors or stereotypes? I know WAY more people who listen to house/progressive that pop E or snort coke, then with trance. But that is besides the point, it isn't the music, it is the party culture here in NA. If you venture outside of the US to the UK, Netherlands, Australia, drug use is pretty minimal in the clubs. All of my friends that come here to party in the clubs in NA are absolutely astounded at the drug use and sketchy factors in our clubs.

You need to research your facts before you spew out accusations of drug use, etc. Narrow minded judgement comments like this are what make people think the trance scene is bad. As for your stupid candy raver comments, they don't come out to people like Armin, etc as someone already mentioned. Most of "those people" are into Psy and hard hard style music.
haha. you may want to research yourself and open your eyes. i may be not so narrow minded as you think.

Trance developed alongside the increasing use of the drug ecstasy in the club scene. Ecstasy invokes a feeling of intense optimism and goodwill, and when taken while listening to loud trance music the feeling can become euphoric and highly energetic. The structure of trance music came to develop, deliberately or not, so that it became ever more effective at provoking these euphoric feelings. The metronomic beat, simple distorted waveforms drenched in large amounts of reverb, and long build-ups with snare rolls leading out of a breakdown all trigger a huge predictable response from ecstacy users. At the end of the 1990s, it is likely that a majority of clubbers in clubs such as Gatecrasher in Sheffield and Passion in Coalville (both in the UK) were using ecstasy.
Drug use in the trance scene is rarer today than it was at the turn of the millennium. Ecstasy use has become part of a subculture within the scene rather than one of the major aspects of it, and many trance fans do not regularly use ecstasy or have never tried it.

you want more ... you got it.

But all the E floating around has increased the audience for radiant, hypnotic trance music--music that, with its unselfconscious, ego-melting loveliness, virtually serves as the soundtrack to a good pill. Not, of course, that one can't make or enjoy trance without taking drugs. It's simply that the drugs and the resurgent rave scene (which came first is a chicken-and-egg question) have created an American audience for the two and a half trance packages out domestically this month.

Re: TA released there DJ Top 250 Results

              here is some more.

MDMA (ecstasy), Rohypnol, GHB, and ketamine are among the drugs used by teens and young adults who are part of a nightclub, bar, rave, or trance scene. Raves and trance events are generally night-long dances, often held in warehouses. Many who attend raves and trances do not use club drugs, but those who do may be attracted to their generally low cost, and to the intoxicating highs that are said to deepen the rave or trance experience.

The people that write these articles probably can't even tell the difference between trance and house....anyways

I am not even arguing with you anymore...you are looking up things on Wikipedia of all places to support your argument....go to a trance event and see for yourself....or stay judgemental on trance because you know you no matter what I say

ps i am not stating that all people that listen to trance do drugs.

just i find it funny that you are defending trance when most media, artists, listeners, people, will tell you trance and ravers go hand in hand.

i am sorry if offended you in any matter. the verdict is out, and has been for some time. this was not my call, this is what people and abuse can create. it just happened under "trance".

Many of the DJs you pretend to love and respect are registered there and surprise surprise, it's not all about Trance Music there. Another breaking news: some of the sets we have offered here for downloading would have never come my way without contacts to members/DJs on Tranceaddict. Gosh.

You all sound like parents when they talk about things they have not the slightest clue about but have a strict opinion about it. Yaaaawn. Do you really think people who go to Trance events all look like these hardliner candy ravers? Why should Karen confess, explain why it is like it is etc.? You have no clue how it is (I don't as well because I am no longer into Trance but at least I shut up if somebody talks about something he likes out of respect). I know this is all in good fun and you try to pick on Karen but you guys are annoying as fuck and repeat the things you say like parrots.

ouch. glad you got all of that out of one quick funny line. well, at least you think you know everything about me from one quote.

omg. this is a little overboard but a state publication.

"Trance parties are private parties, usually held at someone's home. The crowd is typically elite and wealthy, and often include young professional males seeking underage girls"

no way do i believe that. but that is funny. hesh. that is a joke.

yeah. i am for that. i just have personal convictions with Trance. i will not tell you my story. but it was enough to change me as a person. i think my own personal passion and moral compass are perhaps skewed because of this horrible experience. That is not fair to Karen for she is a fine young lass with her head on straight.

Karen, please forgive me for not being a gentleman and not having tact. i am sorry.
