yea i never really spent much time in room 2 or 3. room 2 is like a rave hall that is fun for 10 minutes while your ears bleed, and room 3 just feels a bit toooo small cus its alawys jampacked. (which is great for the club, scary for the chloe. )

oh and crobar in nyc does have a great sound system. it has a nice 'oomph' to it, but i still like fabric's better. that room is just tuned perfectly for the weirdness that comes out of those speakers.

I couldnt disagree more with Crobar. That vast hall means that half the sound just gets lost. There is so much open space in there it could almost be an outdoor festival.\

Having recently moved to NYC from London i am so dissapointed with what the music scene has to offer here. I have yet to find a decent club, ie one which doesnt revolve around image and money. Everywhere you go it is full of guys adjusting t-shirts to show off there biceps and girls milling about just hoping to get noticed.

is there no underground in this city?

well crobar's system sure sounded great when diggers and i were there. maybe it was tuned correctly. the sound guy was great.

and yes there's a huge underground in london. just depends on what sort of music you are looking for. of course the major clubs fill up, turdmills, the cross, the end, fabric, the key, etc... but there are also a lot of small nites. you just need to search them out.

No i have moved from London to New York. I know all about the London Underground. the majority of my youth was misspent exploring it (im not refering to the tube)

Does New York have an underground?

Went to Cielo, it was poor. Quite how you can call it underground i dont know. It is fully of posers and fashion snobs. I am not interested to going to a club to show off my new diesel t shirt or obscure cap. I want to go to hear good tech house in a bangin club which is dark, underground and revolves around a solid music policy.

absolutely agree with you on sound at crobar. The place is so big, much sound tends to get drowned out and there are way too many dull spots in that place...and all that's before even getting to discussing that awful crowd most of the time.

As for underground in nyc, that's getting harder and harder to find. You really need to look for the off nights or out of the way places. Lately, Love and Sullivan Room have been bringing me some of that flavor (though crowds are no guarantee)...good djs, good crowd and no attitude and Love covers the afterhours better than anyone at the moment (though Burridge/Patrick afterhours at Shelter last weekend was awesome ). Sullivan's sound has gotten better over the years, but still not that great and Love actually has some of the best sound I've heard in this city for a long time. Cielo has it's nights (especially if you're a house fan), but I'll be the first to agree on most nights they are about the money. Otherwise, I find you're shit out of luck and nothing's consistently reliable.
"Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
                            Dance like nobody's watching.
                            Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth."
