So if you get married before 30 you have to wait to consumate? That would be silly. If you don't have to wait, wouldn't that cause people to marry younger, and then increase the divorce rate?

Sure it's good to educate, but putting an age restriction is just stupid IMO

Keep in mind that the government can't restrict a damn thing here. They're not going to tell you when you can and can't have sex. All they're going to do is set up some program for $50M and try to TELL you that you shouldn't have sex - and that's assuming you even listen.

Don't mean to sound too old (I'm under 30), but the fundamental way to change things like out-of-wedlock birth trends is to change peoples' moral judgements and values that drive their actions. And that's damn hard to do. And it probably takes decades.

So, in other words, this initiative will spend $50M and do absolutely nothing. It's really not so different from many other projects they spend your money on.
