Well, I´m Euro too but I know what it´s about. This thread referers to the "cowbell sketch" from Saturday Night Live a few years ago.

There´s also a classic dance track based on int, called "Cowbell" (duh) by the Dirty Gringos. The Jay Tripwire mix of it is one of my all time fave dance tracks.
