Steve Lawler @ The End

Saw Lawler @ SW4 a couple of months ago and was blown away...easily the best set of the day (only Danny Howells came close) but went to see him at The End last week. And was sorely dissappointed...started nailing it pretty much as soon as he came on, massive breakdowns that left ultimately left you feeling a bit dissapointed when they dropped. Was anyone else there? Any idea why's he's forsaken interestingly moody minimal for crowd pleasing rubbish?

Yeah i was there last week, had a great time, love the 'dark' End.

Build 3 tunes up start again, build 3 tunes up start again, is what he played like which is different.

Good to hear Delerium - Silence again.

Left at the end, to watch Lawler leave the last tune playing while he ran up the stairs and out the club?!

WTF...?

I was not there but heard similar thoughts from others. He seems to be one of the most inconsistent djs imo. You never know what you are going to hear which is v annoying coz when he is playing well he is a good dj...

Yeah i've given up on seeing him in the clubs.. used to love him 4-5 yrs ago.. didn't go out to see him last 2 times he was here.. i agree with AndyH he's very inconsistent and sometimes its not worth going to find out if tonight he will be the good Lawler or not.

im seeing him at the warehouse project in 3 weeks time, hope its worth the journey! Alternatively, Autechre and Surgeon are playing in the other part of the club, perhaps i should go in that and get absolutely destroyed!

are you serious?? I like that tune as well, but who plays that out nowa days?? ill tell you who plays it, cheezy top 40 clubs with middle aged men trying to pick up the twenty somethings....thats where you are likely to hear it these days......

lawler is the man....too bad we got dissapointed last weekend when he was suppossed to come to madrid and he cancelled.....we didnt find out until we were at the entrance of the club that night...AAAAAGHHHHHH!!!!!!!
