    Embryonic Stem Cell Research

This post was on the StLToday.com forums today in response to MO's amendment on stem cell research. It absolutely got my blood boiling, so I thought I'd share. Check it out:

My 6 year old son cried this morning when he found out that people are now going to have unlimited $$$$ to DESTROY human life.

How blind are we that we cannot see what this is !!!

How hard and cold are our hearts that we cannot understand !!!

I can deal with Claire McCaskill winning - because at least we can pray that her heart will be changed - pray that she will see that her pro-choice stance on the murder of babies is wrong. At least we can pray that she will open her heart to God and see the truth.

    BUT

The murder of human life at the very earliest of development and women selling their eggs - they might as well be selling their souls...the murder of human life ... for the ALMIGHTY $$$$$.

How sad that a 6 YEAR OLD can understand what this means... and cries at the destruction of human life..... and adults are so blind that they would go out of their way, handing out signs, giving money $30 million dollars to destroy human life....

There is a reason that Jesus said "unless you come to me as a little child does, you can have no part in the kingdom of God..."

MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US !!!!!!

Pretty crazy, eh? When I was 6, the biggest concern in my life was whether or not I could find my Big Wheel, and this dude is trying to get his kid to deal with something as heavy as embryonic stem cell research? Unreal.

BTW, if you read through the posts, you'll learn that this guy home schools his kids. Least shocking news, IMO.

    Re: Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Am I really supposed to believe that a 6 year old truly understands what embryonic stem cell research is really about (especially when practically all adults don't, excluding those scientists in the know)? or is this parent merely using their child for emotional effect? the latter is more likely when I open my "heart to God and see the truth."

It's just too damn bad that this child will never learn the difference between religion and science, nor will this parent ever have the ability to think for themselves...good thing for them that Jesus has already done all the thinking for them.
"Work like you don't need the money.
Love like you've never been hurt.
    Dance like nobody's watching.
    Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth."

Absolutely using his child as a political prop, but I have no doubt that this clown actually told his 6 year old son something to the effect of:

"I have some bad news. The democrats are going to kill millions of babies."

If I were 6, even if I didn't know who the democrats were, or why they were doing what they were doing, hearing about babies dying would probably upset me.

That's the thing that is so shocking to me. ESCR is so clearly beyond the ken of a 6 year old, there's no way he could understand it and no good reason to involve him in the discussion.

In some ways the US isn't that different from Iran imo... (or at least a number of people)

Yep indeed...it's old fashioned brainwashing Maybe holier-than-thou dad doesn't want to admit, or doesn't recognize, that his son's "opinion" will be whatever he tells him it should be...brilliant... Either way, I have a hard time treating those kinds of zealously religious people as anything other than just a freak show. Can't take em seriously on anything.
