Re: Walmart not afraid of saying Merry Christmas
im all for it. the twats that bring up lawssuits and complain about it are simply being sour. realize that merry christmas is a freindly greeting and take it for just that, someone being nice to you. im not gonna ask what religion someone is to offer greetings and i wont be walking up to black people and saying kwanzaa.
merry christmas, help everyone around you feel better. its a great time of year.your life is an occasion, rise to it.

Re: Walmart not afraid of saying Merry Christmas
My thoughts on this are summed up pretty accurately in a post from last year. Rather than restating it, I'll just copy it here:
[rant]The conflict between the Christian, non-Christian, and non-religious people in this country has reached absurd levels.
Here's the deal: to the non-Christians and non-religious people: when someone wishes you a Merry Christmas, it is an expression of goodwill, not an affront to your religious beliefs. They may not know whether you celebrate Christmas at all. It doesn't matter. FFS, it is a federal holiday and you get the day off of work whether you celebrate Christmas or not -- you don't have to do anything Christian on that day, just enjoy the day. This whole idea that you can't wish someone a Merry Christmas because you might offend them is utterly ridiculous.
As ridiculous as that is, however, it's absurdity is easily eclipsed by the Christians that maintain that they are entitled to receive a "Merry Christmas" everywhere they go, or being offended because someone wishes them "Happy Holidays." Here's the deal: when someone wishes you Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah (sp?), Happy Holidays, whatever, it is a friendly expression which means, in a broad sense, "enjoy this time of year where we all exchange gifts for whatever reason, go to parties, and generally engage in merriment." Take it as such. No one is entitled to a holiday greeting of any sort. If you get one, enjoy it.

Re: Walmart not afraid of saying Merry Christmas
I have no problem with anyone else using god and it never offends me, but when I'm the one doing the wishing I shouldn't have to say god if that's what I choose."Work like you don't need the money.
