I'm paraphrasing here, but I heard McCain advocate the idea on Meet the Press that we need to either send more troops into Iraq or pull them all now and accept that Iraq (and the region) will be left in utter chaos and deal with the consequences -- with him strongly advocating the former position. The idea of sending more troops into that clusterfuck seems less than savory to me, but I guess I do agree with him that if we can't come up with a better plan, it doesn't make a lot of sense to continue to lose soldiers over there. Damned if we do, damned if we don't, IMO.
Thoughts?
Also, with him obviously looking to run in 2008, any thoughts on how him taking this position will affect his electability? I think his position is, regrettably, probably accurate, but it's bound to be unpopular.
