Yep, it´s interesting to layer that type of track with a more "normal" record.

What exactly is a "normal" record?

Yeah, unfortunate choice of word, I meant records with 4/4 beats.

it IS 4/4, but that's not the point. I'd rather he cued and actually mixed a couple of tracks back to back to see how the beatmatching works on that controller.
It comes from inside, just listen ...

crap, that?s what you get for trying to write in 2 places at the same time, I meant I like to layer this type of sparser techno tracks with other, fuller tracks, nothing about time signatures.

And actually, right at the end he is bringing in another track, the beatmatching seams dead on, but I?m curious to know if Torq uses a system similar to Live where you have to tell the software where the beats are, through warping, or if it?s just down to using the jog wheels in Xponent (or vinyl/CD control). From what I read from Caley?s review, it?s a mix of the software guessing the beats and the user doing the fine tuning.

Anyway, it?s a demo for the controller so the guy seemed more interested in showing off the fx than anything else (stutter overload...).

There is still no substitution for vinyl emulation, which you can do with Torq. That controller, no thanks.

only thing that is nice is that it can use external efx / vst ... but when i wanna use stuff like that i dj with ableton ... love serato because its so simple and pure djing.

Hawtin is using ableton and serato ... does anyone know how he uses both ???

As for the Xponent controller, to each their own. However, I just pre-ordered one and would be more than happy to give a full break-down review once I get my hands on it. I was told that delivery was going to be first week in April, possibly sooner.

One thing that cannot be denied is that M-Audio is doing great things with the Torq software and all of its periferals.
