"Really fucking ignorant driver" sounds more like it... anybody that jumps in a car drunk expecting to get out of a dui and free medical for any damage he/she causes to themselves is just plain selfish. and stupid. it doesn't matter that they didn't get charged with anything... if you actually wreck your car once while drunk, why the fuck would you do it again, then again?

I brought the car to Sears and they told me it looks like the axel and frame are bent........FUCK !

how much could this cost ?

Should I have insurance pay and have my premium go up or make him pay and leave out insurance ?

If the dude will pay for it, do that shit without question. I can't imagine them wanting to pay for it, but if they say they will then get that shit quick and leave the insurance company out of it. The whole reason they exist is to fix the problems, but if you can sort it out yourself (without lying like runningman) then jump on it.

I hate to say this, but if your axel and frame are bent then you car could be screwed permanently and not worth fixing if it's an older model. Old model cars with bent frames just don't run the same again. Newer models to my understanding are easier frames to fix, but still can cause problems.

You're probably going to have to get a new car regardless whether it's new or old. My thinking and many will agree that once it's wrecked bad like that then you should just move on and get something else. The repaired vehicle never really is the same again.

Forgot to add. Don't listen to that guy with multiple DUI's. You really haven't done anything wrong, but if you lie about this it could come back on you. Like lawsuits and maybe jail time. But, it's up to you what you want to do. Just my 2 cents.

Your Insurance will not cover this. If your DD had a license and Insurance it would all fall under his policy because he was the driver, even though he was not driving his own vehicle.

But he does not have Insurance and License! for that matter. Which I think was irresponsible on your part. Hey, shit happens but when you are going to have a designated driver, please make sure he can "legally" drive.

The best thing you can do is talk to your DD or talk to his parent and let them know what happened...

...as someone said earlier, this sounds like a law suit situation. Unless of course your dd is willing to pay for the damages.

SO, the only thing i can do is

1. not talk to insurance at all.
2. Have the shop repair it and charge the DD.

if his parrents found out he was driving with a suspended liscence hes in deep shit. so he BETTER HAVE ENOUGH MONEY HIMSELF TO FIX IT !
