    1. Select page "Files to join"
    2. Select files in upper part of window
    3. Use buttons Add/Delete to manage files in list
    4. You can reorder the files in list using mouse (drag&drop)
    5. Adjust "Output filename" if neccessary
    6. Hit "Join now!" button

Not sure too mate. Don't usually use it for joining. But gave google a a quick flick, and could be that each mp3 is at a different bit rate, or encoded differently. Maybe try re-encoding it all to a standard format, and maybe even get rid of ID3 tags. But, this is a guess, I'm not entirely sure.

Btw, if all else fails... I'm sure you can find heaps of free programs on the net. www.download.com usually does the trick for free stuff. Not sure of any high-grade software though. Unless you import it all into ableton and tweek it... which seems like a waste of time.

My first choice for what you need from this list
----------Audio tools---------- MP3 tagging tools Tagscanner (http://xdev.narod.ru/tagscan_e.htm) (Freeware) Tritag for MAC (http://www.feedface.com/projects/tritag.html) (Freeware) MP3 cutters HJSplit: (http://www.rhesa.com/HJSPLIT) (Freeware) MP3 Trackmaker: (http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/MP3_TrackMaker/)

would be Exact Audio Copy. If you have the tracks on CDR's anyway, you can just rip them to a single file mp3 with no gasps in the bitrate you like and it even generates a cue..it is also Freeware.

mp3directcut allows you to copy and paste mp3s into each other, usually manages to get over resync errors too.

Just came across some people talking about joining mp3s, some good options there.

                      Re: Joining mp3's

once you rip a CD to multi tracks, you can't join them back together flawlessly. MP3 technology indicates a few frames delay in the beginning to write the header/tag to...you can see this if you ever load several tracks "together" in a sound editor.

Best bet is to re-rip it as one file if you still have the CD...or you'll have to load it into an editor, delete the small gaps, then save it back out as one file.

Oh and use FreeRip to rip CD's...it's exactly what it says it is
