That's Daler Mehendi. He's singing partly in my native tongue (Punjabi) and partly in Hindi (the national language). I must admit I haven't heard this song from him and he's pretty popular in India.

I can't speak for the rest of the US, but NYC has had a huge bhangra scene for a damn long time...the Basement Bhangra party has been around forever (well over ten years now) and has been a consistently awesome night
