    Auction Sniper

if you buy on ebay, you have to try this: instead of bidding throughout the bidding period, this service can place your bid at the last second for you for free.

so... instead of bidding and making the price go higher and risking not to get it because of last minuted bidders, you just place your maximum bid and they'll "snipe" it for you:

I've used it a twice and won each time

Sounds like a useful tool especially if you do not want to sit around waiting for an auction to end (or if you cant be around). Although, you still have to be willing to spend the bucks and put in a high bid so that you wont be outbid by all the fookers sitting on the auction waiting for it to end. Guess Im indifferent about it, unless I was on vaction or something.
Push the envelope, watch it bend.

I know other people who have used this with success. The only off put for me is that you have to give them your ebay user name and password (obviously). When you go to the page to give those details (below) the browser address should start https:// with the 's' standing for secure, which it clearly doesnt have...

      I think thats right anyway...

for some reason a lot of auctions end up on fridays or during the week end - the two last ones I had finished on a friday eve at 10pm - and I'm usually not online then

I searched it before using it and have not found any complaint about it - but it's true, they do get access to your account - I'll use it in the future

                is the one I use,

JBidwatcher is a free eBay tool that's easy to use, multiplatform, and allows you to snipe, bid, and track auctions.

Great little program, free but you have to have leave your computer on.[You don't have to be there] . It doen't go to your highest bid, just the next highest bid. i.e. The last thing I got I left an $80 snipe, got it for twenty. Very helpful tech guy as well.

I actually bought this computer with my first effort.
