SOUNDS FROM THE ORIENT SHOW 10 WITH RICKY RYAN

It's the two Ricky's this week as Ricky Stone is joined by his namesake Ryan. That's Ricky Ryan AKA Can Costa. I am sure you know Ricky Ryan, and two years ago his entry fnished in the top 5 in the global MercuryServer mix competition. Here's some more info on Ricky Ryan.

Ricky Ryan from Argentina has been djing for almost five years. Its due to his relentless search for quality, that has enabled him to progress at a remarkably fast pace.

He has shared the booth with many well known local and international djs such as Danny Howells, Justin Robertson, King Unique, Circulation, Francesco Farfa, Rowan Blades, Demi, Jonathan Lisle, Kings of Tomorrow, Silver City, Joshua Collins, Tarrentella & Redanka, Soul Mekanik, Echomen, Rachael Starr, Steve Bug, Martin Landsky, Ashley Casselle, Chris Fortier, Guy Gerber, Tom Neville & Paolo Mojo from Fabric UK among others.

In 2005, Ricky Ryan became resident at Warung Beach Club (Santa Catarina, Brazil), one of the most acclaimed venues at the moment, ranked by DJ Mag and Mixmag as one of the best clubs in the world. This came as a consequence of his hard work and constant touring, taking part in several events and festivals in venues around the globe such as Pacha, Mint, Smirnoff Experience, D-Edge, Pokerflat Tour, BUE, Dance Connection, Personal Fest, Space World Tour, South American Music Conference & Creamfields - sharing in the line up with Massive Attack, Rinocerose, Andy Fletcher (Depeche Mode), FC Kahuna, The Human League, Herbalizer, Junior Sanchez, Slacker, Darren Emerson, Groove Armada, Paul Oakenfold, Plump Djs, Dub Pistols, Tom Middleton, Erick Morillo, Marco Carola, Christian Smith, Marco Bailey, Mistress Barbara, Adam Beyer & Richie Hawtin.

With jazz, vocals, guitar & piano knowledge - under his Can Costa moniker - Ricky has already released own productions and remixes on Vapourise, Babylon, CPR, Mining Vinyl, Music is Freedom, Fiberline Audio, Proton Music, Kaya & Mashtronic Records. He's collaborated with other well known artists like MOS, Joshua Collins, Kosmas Epsilon and has been remixed by D-Nox & Beckers, Pig & Dan, Fat Phaze, Shafunkers, Smight, Blendbrank, Shiloh, Pj Davy, 16 Bit Lolitas & Mashtronic.

His music has recieved support from Sasha, Digweed, Danny Tennaglia, Deep Dish, Pete Tong, Hernan Cattaneo, Luke Fair, Desyn Masiello, Lee Burridge, Sander Kleinenberg, Nic Fanciulli / Skylark, James Zabiela, Omid 16B, Satoshi Tomiie, Adam Freeland, Steve Gerrard, Jimmy Van M, Josh Wink, Anthony Pappa, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman & Steve Lawler to name a few.

Ricky's "Featured Artist" mix for Proton Radio reached over 1,000 listeners. This was the first time for listener levels to reach this bench mark, achieving world record.

He recently lined up alongside Moby, Fergie & Dave Angel at Nokia Trends in front of around 20.000 people.
Nowadays, Ricky spends most of his time producing music and promoting events, not to mention djing. He currently holds a residency at Discomaniac & Superclub ? sharing the booth with weekly guests such as Greg Vickers, Jody Wisternoff from Way out West, Paul Rogers, Kasey Taylor, Stephane K, Sean Cusick, Christian Cambas & Christopher Lawrence.

Ricky Ryan has been mentioned by Desyn Masiello & Danny Howells as a "DJ that will breakthrough in 2006" in world known DJ MAG.

On July 8th of 2006 Ricky was featured as guest on John Digweed?s legendary Transitions, being the third Argentinean (along with Hernan Cattaneo & Martin Garcia) to have a spot on the acclaimed show, with around 30 tracks blended in a 60 minutes mix!

    Enjoy!

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

          1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
          2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
          3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
          4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

          Am I close here?
