how about let's stop electing people to be president because they were related to a president. just because you're married to or the son of a president doesn't qualify you to be one.

we see where that got us with W. We almost deserve the shit we get when we elect incompetent people into power. that goes for Congress too. let's vote in people who lookout for America and its people first and not their corporate masters.

Unfortunately, thanks to the media and our country's degeneration of standards, we will no longer see intelligent, qualified candidates for president.

Being the President today means your life changes forever. You lose all privacy. You are attacked daily by the press, and opponents. They attack you, your family, even your dog. They dig up your past, and use it against you. You get death threats. You have 24/7 security and military escort. Even after you step down, you must have secret service with you forever. What type of person wants that life? The answer is only those who are either ultra-ambitious, power-hungry, or downright insane.

A smart person in America can find hundreds of careers which will earn him more money, yield a better lifestyle, avoid public criticism and retain privacy. So why would a smart person run for public office? There is no logical reason.

There are a few truly intelligent politicians in Washington.... but they are the exception, not the rule.

I agree with what you say, but at some point we need to demand leaders with intelligence and morals from the monopoly the two parties have in this country.

I think there are qualified people who could do good jobs in public service, but we've scared them away from what you mention above. Or they're too busy trying to get rich in business which is a shame. They could use that talent in public service.

If Hillary were vice-president, she would have the president assassinated. I would put money on it.
