Looking for a pair of quality headphones.

    Yep, its this thread again..

I searched and searchd MS and i could not find the headphones thread.. i rememebr there being one in teh past but im in need.

Well, my old Sony MDR-V600's are getting quite ugly so im shoppping for a new pair of quality headphones..

Here is what i have it down to so far:

    Technics RP-DH1200
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...624427-2601611

    Sony MDR-V700DJ
    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V700D...qid=1165963387

    Sennheiser HD-595
    http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD5...624427-2601611

I need help with what one to choose...If there are any other good quality phones in the 100-200$ range, please post links. I need one that has good crisp sound and will not allow any outside sound in.

Ive also looked at the Pioneer 1000's and them as well as the Sony's have a tendancy to break at the swivel... so im at a loss...HELPPP

    thanks in advance.

        for dj'ing or home?

for dj'ing, most anything is decent

but for home use.... do urself a favor, go grab studio headphones and dont be afriad to drop a few hundred bucks on em. they are better than most ""DJ"" headphones.

this will be for home use.
for now, they will be primarily be used for car rides/ipod and mixing on the computer.

in the future, i will buy some decks and start experimenting with that sort of thing so i want something good for both worlds and will hopefully last awhile, also I prefer the "EAR-CUP" style..

it's that same cheap headphones link again bro.

I would stay the hell away from dj type headphones when using them for regular/production listening. They have an eq curve that will tire your ears out faster. Get a good pair of studio headphones, but try to stay away from the ones that say anything about bass boost. If you're going to use them for the studio you want them to be as flat a response as possible.

For dj'ing...i have the standard sony headphones that everyone was using three years ago. bought mine back in 2002 and have been using them since.
