I have an interview for work at a record label this afternoon, and would be stoked beyond belief if I got it. Does anyone here work for one already? Any ideas what they're likely to ask (besides the obvious). What do they want to hear? Any advice would be much appreciated, sensible or otherwise!

Re: Advice Please!
Say that you have an eye for detail & deadline, that's what they like to hear for that kinda shit.
Did you take my rep fucker?
In order to play Asteroids, you need to have a reputation of at least -1000 points. Your current reputation stands at -2523 points.Comment

Re: Advice Please!
Talk as if you have never even considered doing anything else and am prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve ur goals (all jokes aside for once). 'Working in sales now but have decided to go for it' etc. Def make sure u are up to scratch on the label which im sure you are already . Have 4-5 good questions prepared beforehand. Just be ur usual gay self and im sure u will be fine mate. Let me know how it goes later (not at work).
Good luck...[quote=lilsensa '] 'Who wants to sample size my ball sack?'Comment

Re: Advice Please!
Just go in with confidence in yourself, and like others have mentioned, know something about the label you are applying for (Artists they have on it, style they aim for, how long they have been in business, etc)
Good luck!sigpic

Re: Advice Please!
Make sure to wear pants. You can't be confident in your undies...unless you are Peter North.
But in all seriousness, best of luck. Just act like you know what you are talking about and you'll be fine. It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.Comment

Re: Advice Please!
people doing job interviews always want to hear how you'll make their lives easier if they hire you. emphasize your value to them based on meeting the requirements set out in the job posting (which is your best source of info to prep for the interview).
be calm and confident, and you'll be fine...Comment

Re: Advice Please!
I'm an expert at job interviews, there is no right answer you have to read the interviewer, but confidence and more importantly committment must come across. Tell them how your eager to add value and that you know this is what you want to do with your life, blah blah blah, your as good as in. Remember them hiring you won't significantly change their lives much, but it will greatly affect YOURS, so be sure to ask them lots of questions, have them pre-typed and for God's sake have a solid resume/cover letter without any typos. I assume you know the label in and out, already.
It was fun while it lasted...Comment

Re: Advice Please!
Just had it. The girl who interviewed me was fit as sin, which certainly helped me smile! Think it went pretty well, actually. Hearing back Monday so will keep you informed if you care. If you don't, fuck it I'll let you know anyway 'cos I'll be well chuffed.Comment
