What moron would buy the new Sony Ipod 'Killer" ...
What moron would buy the new Sony Ipod 'Killer" ...
I think I read that it only supports Atrac format??? Does this mean it can't handle MP3's?????? Doesn't the whole online trading community revolve around MP3's(except bootleg sites for jam bands - Flac and SHN mostly)
What is Sony thinking??? Their new player looks really enticing until I read that. Did I misunderstand something?
The djs took pills to stay awake and play for seven days......
when you copy music to the player, like mp3's for example it get recoded into sony's atrac format i know it sucks i don't know why they keep pushing there own music format. it's never gonna work they should of got that by know you would think
sony cannot support mp3 format due to piracy or sony music would have another lawsuit against sony electronics as it did in the past. the result... the at3 format.
i don't understand how the ipod would be allowed to use the mp3 format and sony can't:?
Because they probably pay royalties to the German(?) company that made mp3. There is some fee issues, but it was only supposed to be < 2.00 per player sold. Don't know why this would be a big issue.

looks like ther are codecs too for playing this format on the pc. i never heard anything encoded with it so i am not sure how good it ir really. there seems to be other players that sony has that support multi formats and the online music shop. Click Here
I am not a huge fan of sony so i am sure i will never buy one of those...
i got rid of my md for the iriver cos i can drag and drop my mixes on to my pc quick smart without recording the fookers back in real time.
sony's a bunch gdmfsob's. their whole idea of thinking that they are covering their asses copyright wise by not letting people transfer files back from mini disc only pc-mini disc was wack. same shizen with the atrac
After owning several different mp3 players I would not trade my Ipod for the world. I own the mini and the only thing I wish is that it had an FM tuner. When I was stuck in the hurricane without power I had to resort back to my old Intel Pocket Concert to tune into the news on the radio.
