damn im really afraid of hurricanes... maybe cause im not used to them... here in Lima we only have small tremors.
I remember like 6 years ago when i was in cancun - mexico and there was a small hurricane close by.. not in cancun... and wow i just didnt want to get out of the lobby!
were all doomed. its moving pretty slow.. so not only the size, but it is most likely gonna hover over us longer than charlie did and cause the most damage. All that patchwork on the powerlines... were gonna be without power twice as long if not longer im afraid. 2 canes in two weeks... this blows.
not to seem overly dramatic, but fucks sake did you see the size of that thing?
No drama at all man, last picture I saw on noaa.com that damn thing is almost as big as the entire Southeast US. Everyone here is so calm "Oh, it will miss us", "By the time it reaches us it will be alot weaker."
Fuck that...I'm tweakin'. Why I'm even at work right now I have no idea. They let us go at noon the day before Charley hit and we got nothing. Now there is the storm of the century right offshore and I'm still sittin' here.
Hold on tight, folks. This is looking to get ugly.
Miami-Dade & Miami Beach expecting now to clear out by tomorrow afternoon...

Well, as for me, i was flying to Miami this Friday but i cancelled because no way im getting there to be with no electricity and facing heavy rains. Here in Puerto Rico, we were almost close to recieving that hurricane but it passed us above and now its heading towards my destination in the next few days. Now classes are being pushed foward and things will start to delay. It reminds me of the time we faced hurrican HUGO which really devastated the island. Horrible memories of no water, no light for a couple of weeks and everything destroyed was not a pretty sight.
I was only out of the internet/cable for less than a day!! Brighthouse was really on top of it this time. School was cancelled for tuesday too. I'm quite ready to go back though, it's been boring staying in the house for 4 days!
Re: HURRICANE FRANCES INTO FLORIDA AT WEEK'S END...
my friend chris scott was in town with his family, from melbourne.
they spoke to someone today (monday) and their house was virtually untouched.
they are some of the lucky few.
I'm back at work, and still without power at the house since saturday. They turned it off on pupose. Nothing major as far as damage. Some flooding though. People were riding jet ski's down the road yesterday. But, now we have Ivan to look forward to. Hope it isnt another one on the way to Florida.
