I only listened to it once and I want to listen to it again. Probably won't be one of those discs that I can listen to for years and years but its good right now. Guess you could say I'm impressed.

I agree with most people when saying this cd pisses all over Volume 1. I tried and tried to get into Volume 1, but it had no groove to it. But Volume 2 does it proper, the first half being the highlight for me.

Also scoop up Michael Mayer - Immer 2 if you enjoyed Transistions Volume 2, same groove and feel. The whole Kompakt line up is quality in all honesty, lot of good tunes coming from that way.

I am not sure what you mean by " Voloume 1 had no groove"?? It had alot of fucken groove. Now that i have listened to both disks properly i keep put on voloume one on first.. which means that prob i do like voloume one better.. Quality tracks on there actually. Mind you voloume 2 is pretty damn good as well. Bring on voloume 3 i say

I thought this album was pretty solid. I've only listened to it 2 or 3 times, but I have no complaints. Nothing mind blowing, but very enjoyable mix.

First impression, this mix doesn't go anywhere. Not tight enough, felt like it was meandering all over the place. Poor programming. I think he could've reversed the tracklist and build up to that Atena track. It'll probably grow on me after a proper listen (or a few, which isn't how it's suppose to be!), but man, what happened to the Digweed mixes that used to lock me in a groove from the first bassline?!

I first listened to it on the way to work this morning while driving. I am listening to it again right now that I am taking a break and have to say that mixing is solid and production is excellent!

Did not find it boring at all. It's very uplifting and has a hell lot of a groove in it. That's my frist impressions. For the people who were not amazed at all, its definitely worth giving it a lot more listens to see how it grows.

I'm probably one of the few people on this thread who hasn't listened to any well music for about 2 weeks up until yesterday...I just havent had time, too busy...anyway, my point is, after taking a break from music I have to say this CD is f*cking awesome. I did think that transitions 1 was great right from the start, but this mix is more my speed, "slow burner" is a great way to describe it...this is the kinda cd I'll play MANY times. Actually reminds me of his Fabric 20 cd which I still love.

Not to bring up old topics but I am seriously hooked on diggers new cd. I have listened to it at least once every day this week, sometimes more then that a couple of times this week. What a great way to start off 07. Digweed once again delivered the goods. Like it or not this is digweed at his best, in my opinion. Sure his old stuff is top notch and there are a lot of old mixes out there that are true classics. But as for modern digweed this is were it is at.

My Review

Digweed's latest volume to the Transitions series not only surpasses the first volume by the same name but also leaps above and beyond any subsequent albums since Digweed's last Global Underground release (019, Los Angeles). Masked by the minimal beats that seem to be the trend du jour, Digweed mellifluously prances between the deeper and darker sounds that defined him as a DJ and as a consummate artist. The track selection on Transitions 2 is stellar and it's refreshing to hear Digweed touch on a more aggressive style that seems to have eluded him since his residency days in New York City. Make no mistake about it, Transitions 2 is an all-out assertion by Digweed that he is still the king of progressive house and any deviations from the norm should go through him.
