    DJing Any entry-level CDJ sugg.s?

After messing with Technics turntables for a couple of years, I'm thinking about trying out some CDJs. A lot of online reviews seem geared towards "scratching" when as a house DJ, I'm not too concerned with that aspect. Any particular differences between the Dual-CD players and the single CD-players>

Looking at the Pioneer CDJ-200 right now (about $400/deck), just to give an idea of the price range I'm looking for.

Anyonw know of good decks or places to read some good reviews? Any help is appreciated.

I have two cdj 200 players and love them. Actually like them better than the 1000. I don't need the big jog wheel and vinyl action (that's what i have records for) so to me, it was an easy choice, and i'm very pleased. $400 tho? do some price searching. I got mine less than that.

yeah I'm thinkin about getting some Numark CDN22 MK4's to start off with but Im not 100% sure. I use traktor but im sick and tired of it, I wanna DJ properly. I already have a mixer. Can someone give their thoughts on those numarks? I read some reviews alot of ppl said they were really good for entry level djs like myself but they also said there were some flaws l ike pitch suddenly going to zero and some of the buttons not firing properly? can anyone confirm?

      cheers

dude i totally suggest cdj 200's. I've spun on 1000's and 800's and I still like my 200's better. they already play MP3's if you want them too plus they have some cool effects that you can manipulate using the jog wheel, which I love. The looping on them is pretty awesome too. not to mention they cost ahell of as lot less.

Really? 200s over 1000s and 800s? I understand the price difference and everything, but still...

Pronsen, what have you heard about the numarks? I've never really used CD-Js before, so I'm basically going on word-of-mouth...

I will still push the 800s over the 200s, I just can't lose the vinyl type of control that the 200s sacrifice. CDJ mode is such a foreign feeling to me, almost archaic IMO. So if you are the type that wants full vinyl emulation when using CDs, the 800s cannot be beat. MK1s or MK2s for that matter...

the 1000's are always superior players. but as you suggested you wanted something 'entry-level' go with the 200's. i, like others here, own these too and love them to death. mixing on them is precise and smooth. no chasing shit like when you use the 800's.
not to mention you can own three of the 200's for the price of one 1000.

                  don't ever by numark dex.

I once read a little piece from a dj who has played all over the world.

He said something to the effect that there is a reason why you'll never see Numark equiptment in the big clubs of the world. They simply can't hold up to the Pioneer equiptment. If your having problems with the price, you can always get refurbished. They will usually take you a 3-400 off the 1000 and maybe 100 off the 200 model.

bro the last couple pairs of 800's i used at least one of them each time had something wrong with the jog wheel. so when i was making adjustments the track would do the opposite of what i wanted it to. therefore i'd be chasing it with the pitch control constantly. i've never had this problem with the cdj 100, 200, or 1000's.

could be that the ones i have used were not taken care of as well. i should say i used a brand new pair of 800's recently too that worked fine. maybe those are just succeptable to damage easier than others.
