It's on Google video unedited if anyone is curious. I haven't watched it, but I do understand it to show the whole execution. Personally, I'm not eager to watch it.

Theres an investigation going on looking into who leaked the cell phone video-

The video from google if anybody cares-

Gotta love the few seconds of black out at the moment of the drop. I thought a video would be able to put conspiracy theories to bed, although this one leaves a nice loop hole. However, the last shot of him is fairly gruesome.
Push the envelope, watch it bend.

          I see.

Keep Saddam alive for information? Are you kidding me? What information did we glean from having him in captivity these years, and then during the trial? Nothing. There is no point in keeping him alive for information because he wouldn't ever give it up. The trials against Saddam will continue even though he is already dead.
So then it's useless to even bother trying to interrogate individuals at Guantanamo and Abu Graihb since we know they won't spit out information unless we wrap duct tape around their heads or put dark clothes over their heads for days....

You won't see the actual death of Saddam in western media because they don't show anything like that. Oh...wait a minute.... I am wrong about that. CNN will show video of terrorists shooting US soldiers. But that's OK because they are making an anti-Bush point with that, right?
Many news stations do. They've always censored those images of public executions, yet showed the atrocities of war, on both ends none-the-less.

Also, my brother informed me before I left ot malaysia that there had been a cell phone video of saddams execution. so i guess i was just left in the dark.

            Anyone seen this?

            Court Drops Charges Against Saddam

What is this all about? Some sites refer to this as a "pardon," but I see no reference to a pardon. Could it just be that there were other charges against Saddam that haven't been resolved yet, but now that he's dead, they are effectively moot so they are being dismissed in the administrative sense?

The press is always so bad at accurately describing legal proceedings.

from what I read, saddam was convicted and executed for the killing of 148 shiites...the charges that were dropped were for the killing of 180,000 kurds and since he's dead the case is moot.

I do find it a bit sketchy that they executed him for killing 148 shiites before they could find him guilty of killing many many more kurds...me thinks there was some politics at play here.
