        Re: Hybrid cars

if ppl are really hell bent on saving loot in regards to gas, go buy a cheap deisel fueled car, and buy the conversion kit for food oils. it costs about 3K, and you're fuel becomes free. you can go to any eatery and they will happily save themselves the carting fees for used cooking oils. all you have to do is keep buying simple filters that you pass the used oil through. the car only requires deisel for 2 minutes upon startup and cooldown. after the 2 minute mark, you switch over to the cooking oil for fuel and operate as normal. then give yerself 2 minutes to switch back and cool down the car.viola.

that Prius is the one I was talking about for the aftermarket batteries. 100MPG...that's pretty sweet.

              I love that article...Thanks DIDI.

We need to all spread the word about that car. It's expensive, but with all that freakin money you'd save in gas, you'd get your money back in 4-5 years. That is if you used it as your daily driver.

                  Re: Hybrid cars

The main issue with hydro fuel cells is that there is no distribution network for the fuel. And if the likes of Exxon-Mobile have anything to say about that (as in offering a hydrogen refuling option at their stations), don't count on seeing any real change. They like things just the way they are.

A bit off topic but that Tesla site is probably the best I've ever encounted . Beautifully laid out, incredibly easy to navigate and a wealth of information!!

                      Re: Hybrid cars

Go read up on the exploits of Nikola Tesla, there is a reason why they named this car after him. Tesla knew there was a way to make electric cars over 50 years ago.
