    Robocop (oldie but a goodie)

I picked this up on DVD for ?5 the other day - must have seen this film over 100 times but have never actually owned a copy! However, the DVD version has a directors cut on that I hadn't seen before.

I know this film is good but I was actually disturbed by the violence in it, to the point of actually feeling like I was going to throw up. The scene where Murphy gets killed 25 minutes in is the worst part - sickening isn't the word. Very very graphic. I'd almost become accustomed to it in the past but the new cut has a few extra minutes in it that are just more and more gruesome.

However, the film is still funny and satirical in other places, and hasn't really dated that much, considering its from 1987

Only the first movie is good. And yes, extremely violent.

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.

Love the adverts interspersed through the film - a board game called 'Nuke Em' and an advert for a plastic heart!

Dead or alive you are coming with me!
