I've been saying that for years. People just take neccessities for granted. It's a sad truth. Not that I want to sit and watch teachers teach or doctors perform surgery or whatever, like someone had mentioned earlier, but I'm totally with you on this one. It must suck ass to be a professional football player, or jam out to a concert hall with thousands of people going crazy, yeah I'm glad I wasn't dealt that hand, whew!

Most are down to earth and normal - if you talk about a non music subject (i.e. football) its the same as being down the pub with your mates.

If you take away his talent, success, business accumen and luck, then Diggers is just a nerd with a funny haircut from Hastings !

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

i think we all agree that this is the way it SHOULD be.....
but ppl are naturaly shallow and fickle (on average)

when's the last time you payed $20 or more to watch a surgeon for 6 hours...???
i dont believe teachers draw in crowds of thousands either....

Another reason I believe DJ's, rock stars, movie stars etc. get put up on a pedestal is all the hype behind them. Commercials, tv / magazine ads, etc....

In order for these ppl to be succesful they must be popular in the publics eye. Nobody wants to pay or travel to see a dud. They are built up and advertised to be larger than life so ppl will shell out the $ to see them.... jmo

                exactly!

So why is it that they can get away with bending the rules so often?

I suppose that those that let them "bend the rules" are club promoters/owners. Smoking, drinking, drugs, girls. Its all part of the "package" if you will. I agree with some of the other posts about other DJ's. Alot of them are really cool if you dont play the "can I have your autograph" game with them. They like to be treated like normal people sometimes too. I remember last year I was playing in a city in the midwest and I was at dinner talking with a well known DJ and we were talking about how he loves to garden and do things around the house when he's not travelling. It was kinda cool.
