New mac.

Hi people I just got my new mac in the mail today i went for the 20 inch imac, i´m kind of lost with the OS but I´ll probally get used to it fast (or I hope).
Are there any recomendatios of software that I should get? Any security things i should know? Should I get fire fox or ist safari good enough? How can i make the weather widget, to show me the temperature in °C??

thats all I can think about now bu i´ll used this thread everytime i´m stuck with something, hope you guys can help me out.
