Help! What's decent price for a house painter?

Hi gang - need some serious help here...

The wife and I recently purchased a home outside of Chicago and we need to repaint the inside. It's about 1700 sq feet and we want to repaint most (but not all) of the rooms. (Dining room, living room, sun room, kitchen, two baths, and three bedrooms.)

Can someone please let me know how much is a decent/fair price to pay please?

I'm meeting with a contractor in the morning and I just want some idea so I can determine if his bid is reasonable.

Dude, paint the house yourself. I'm doing all the renovations on my house myself. You'll save 50 to 70% that way. Plus it's fun to get rowdy with the paint and the misses
