    AmigaOS 4

Has finally (after some 7 years!) been finished.

The Amiga is alive and well?sort of, and AmigaOS 4 is finally out. Ars takes …

For those of you who never tinkered with an Amiga back in the day, the operating system truly was a bit of a marvel. You could boot in to it in seconds on a harddisk and took up very little space and memory.
Seems a slight shame they've chosen to tie the system into their own hardware (tho that was one of the reasons the old versions ran so fast - they were tied in to the custom hardware) and that will probably make the OS a niche thing should hardware even appear at all!! I'd happily buy an old MacG3/G4 to run this thing on if I could as it would make Windows look silly.

I'll be watching this with interest.
