    100 Inches...

of snow and counting...2-4 feet expected in the next storms...

Feb 09, 2007 - MEXICO, N.Y. (AP) - Mexico, New York will never be mistaken for the other Mexico. Especially these days. The Oswego County town on has received nearly 90 inches of snow this week as lake-effect squalls continue to pile it on in communities along the lake's eastern end. In the neighboring town of Parish, they've received 94 inches. And the National Weather Service say some parts of the region could get a good deal more before the weekend is over. There are unofficial reports of some communities already hitting the 100-inch mark for snowfall totals. Governor Spitzer yesterday declared a state disaster emergency for Oswego County, where ambulances have gotten stuck in the snow and had to be rescued by other emergency vehicles. Fire officials in the city of Oswego say snow plows have to lead the way for fire trucks called out of emergencies.

Thats about an hour and a half directly to my west. Here, we can still see the ground. It is all lake effect snow that has effected only two or three counties that lie at the eastern edge of Lake Erie. Redfield NY has already gotten over 12 feet of snow, even more than Oswego. Sounds like they are predicting a possible Noreaster for Wednesday, so there is potential for them to receive more snow.
Push the envelope, watch it bend.
