    Another smoker attempts to quit

I've been smoking since I was 19...just turned 33 last month....fack!!! that's 14 years of smoking. Anyhow, last Thursday afternoon was when I had my last cigarrette. Friday, I was at home and out of smokes...too lazy to go to the store..and thought to myself...I just won't smoke today. It is now Tuesday. I was super cranky this weekend, but the nic withdrawals have passed. Now it's just the mental addiction. I want one so bad! I didn't plan on quiting this weekend, but it seems like the right thing to do...wish me luck.

who was it that suggested leaving 3 cigs in a glass of water in the sun and then drinking the water?

I've quit 7 weeks ago and am doing pretty damn well. You'll have some pretty strong urges but stay strong and it gets easier with time.

Re: Another smoker attempts to quit

thanks for the support...and good luck to you other smokers. It's been just over a week now...doing ok. this is the longest I've gone without smoking since 1993 (quit for 3 months, but not by choice). Anyhow., things to look forward to:
                              I'll save a few dollars
my clothes and car won't be all smelly
and of course there is that health thing...

I know that I might breakdown in the future...especially while drinking. I know that I will always be a smoker....just don't want to be an everyday smoker anymore.
