      i tell ya one thing

the NY media right now is throwing a fit about the rivera thing. mariano is on the last year of his contract, and with bernie leaving, the nedia is fearing they wont double up on MO.

my opinion,... listen, you (yanks brass), must re sign him for whatever he wants. if he wants a columbian whore at every road, send steinbrenners private jet and get em. rivera, is by far, and this includes ruth, ted williams, pete rose, whoever, is by far, the single most dominant player at his position in the history of the game, and gets even better in the postseason. its a crock he hasnt won an MVP or Cy young, but i understand relivers dont get it. but dude, mo is the real MVP of the yanks for the last 11 years. not jeter, not bernie, not pettite, no one. this team, and the one that won 4 in 5 years, is so reliant on rivera it aint funny. fucking sign him today, and send the plane.

        Re: baseball kickoff.

Anything i'd say at this point would just be based on how last year turned out but i'll take a stab at a few:

        Predictions:

-The Cubs 300 million dollar payroll still won't win the Central, but maybe it'll put some pressure on the Cards to do a little better down the stretch. The Cubs are going to make for some really interesting baseball this year, but I still think (hope) we'll take the division.

-I still don't think the Yanks are going to win it all. Something needs major retooling with the Yanks, and i'm not sure what it is. All that talent, all these years, and nothing. I know talent doesn't = 100% championships, but man, they're just not the same playoff team they used to be, ESPECIALLY if they lose MO.

-Mets- look for them to be really good this year, and still choke like they ALWAYS DO in the playoffs.

-Cards, no predictions- how can you with this team? So many what if's. Who will Dave Duncan take out of the gutter and turn into a contender this year? Kip Wells? We'll see. Rolen, gonna stay helthy for a whole season? Huh? Can we get a season outta ya boy? Pujols, still going to be close to leading the league in most offensive stats. I'm pretty excited about Kennedy and Eckstein reunion in the infield. Our defense is the best in the central, no question. Isringhausen, ffs, i'm so ready for this fuckstick to retire. But if he's not on the hump in the 9th, then that means Adam Wainright can't be converted to a much needed starter yet, which he may not even be ready for, who knows, but we'll never know as long as we need him in the 9th. Bullpen is going to be a makeshifter AGAIN- so typical with the cards. Can't complain tho, we got our 10th title.

-Weaver made the dumbest move of his life. Took 8 mil for one year vs. 12 mil for two with the cards. What a fucking moron. He'll never pitch like he did here, and let's be honest here, he wasn't exactly "lights out" for the last few months of the regular season. And this is great...he took a few parting shots at cards management on his way out too. Are you fucking kidding me Weaver???? Duncan took you out of the gutter and turned you in to a playoff ace, you won a title, even said on the radio during contract negotiations "It's really about years, not money, i want to stay here" ...we gave you years, you took money...and you have the sack to take shots at Cards management on your way out. Step in front of a fast moving bus already. I hope he pitches like shit this year.

-Jeff Suppan - good luck Sup!! Thanks for being the bull. Can't really blame him for taking that money. I don't think he's worth it, and i'm not sure he'll putch the same anywhere else, but you gotta take that paycheck, we weren't even close on $$ to that. He'll give em solid pitching tho.

Again, i'm not up to speed yet on the rest of the league, will report back after spring training starts and we see how some of these off season moves are working in.

best looking thing about the a's right now is their outfield which looks to be shannon stewart mark kotsay and milton bradley. but as far as how i think they will do it depends on a few key players staying healthy, bobby crosby, rich harden, houston street and eric chavez. with zito gone out staring five is still looking strong. Harden, Loiza, Haren, Blaton and ???? but as far as im considered i cant wait to see how the 25 man roster shapes up in spring training which i will be attending in Pheonix Arizona.

ps zito 28 and hilary duff 19 are seeing each other, thank god a's fans dont have to deal with that shit, what a loser

i've always wanted to do that. have you been before? the cards spring training is in jupiter florida. there are lots of package deals to go there, i can't imagine i'll ever get the wife to go tho. she loves baseball, but there is a limit, and going to meaningless spring training games a few states away is probably it.

piazza will be great for the athletics. trust me on that. as long as they dont let him catch more than 1 or 2 days a week, he will stay healthy and trust me from experience, he is CLUTCH> his homer on 9-21-01 lifted this cities spirits a whole level, yankees fans were mets fans for awhile there. he has a history of dramatics that will inevitebly get into the oakland fans hearts. enjoy him.

ill get a full breakout this weekend or tonight. i dunno. but it will be a long read for sure.

he's old, but he is the greatest hitting catcher of all time, and unlike shit rod, he does it when it matters.

                          Re: baseball kickoff.

yeah enjoy piazza, I know we did when he first started with the Dodgers and he was a stud, but back then, management never kept any good players. Never provided their farm boys / rookies what thay wanted and they always kept on leaving.

Well this time it's different. Many teams have asked about our young players and the answer is always the same now, fuck NO!

I cant wait for Martin to do the pitch calling this season, he'll have a great one.

Out in the NL *cough*weak*cough* West it'll be between the Pads and the Blue crew. with close contenders coming from the Rockies and D-backs.

I really want another shot at the fag Mets though in the post season, and Im sure the entire club wants that opportunity again.

Jeff Kent is getting old, but this offseason he went into a hardcore health workout that he's never done before in his entire career. Just shows what kind of competitive athlete he is. He's in it to win. Cant wait for this season to get under way!!!

......and for the Boston fans, I sure hope Nancy Poo Drew gets what he deserves...a nice comfortable bench. Might as well get him a foot rest and lamp with some reading material in the dugout. a fireplace would be a nice touch.

I predict I will once again become disinterested with baseball after opening day. I'd love to say the Redlegs will be better but... Frankly I'm too wrapped up in the NHL season to care about baseball right now but hope the Nati boys are at least in the thick of things come August.
